Stay Awhile - August 2026

Updated: Sep 15
Hello and welcome to the August Issue of Nature Notes.
Before the Season Changes

August can feel like a threshold. Summer is still here, but subtle signs of change are beginning to appear.
The light shifts. Some flowers begin to fade. Seeds start to form.
The season is changing, but not quite yet. There is still time to linger - to notice what is here, savor these last weeks of summer, and enjoy the beauty of a season that is gently becoming something new.
August's Guided Invitation

This month, when you find yourself somewhere you enjoy being, resist the urge to move on right away. Stay a little longer.
It might be beneath a favorite tree, on a park bench, or simply outside your own door.
Let your eyes wander. Notice what you might have missed - a new color, a small movement, an interesting texture.
Then ask yourself:
What did I notice when I stayed a little longer?
Even a few extra minutes can reveal something new.
Share the Calm

August invites us to slow down and savor the season while it's still here. There is beauty in giving ourselves permission to simply linger.
If someone in your life could use a gentle reminder to slow down and stay awhile, feel free to share this Nature Note with them.
You never know what you might discover when you give yourself time to notice.
Thanks for being part of my nature circle. I hope you find a few moments this month to slow down, stay awhile, and simply enjoy being where you are.
With love,
Jeanne
